Stay in traditional rural homestays, get to know the traditions and daily livelihood activities of local people and explore picturesque mountains with this 3 days hiking tour to the Nuratau Mountains. You will also have a chance to explore lake Aydarkul and Kyzilikum steppe during this tour.

Day 1- Samarkand or Bukhara – Asraf village
Arrive in Asraf village and settle in the homestay. Walk around to get to know the village and people, relax on the tapchan or supa under the walnut trees. Help or watch to prepare traditional dish
Day 2 – Asraf –Sentob village
Leave Asraf via Lake Aydarkul to the next mountain village Sentob. Drive though vast Kyzyl-Kum steppes and arrive at the lake. Watch the rich aquatic bird life, swim or just stroll along the lakeshores.
Continue to Sentob village. Hiking tour around the village.
Day 3 – Sentob – Bukhara or Samarkand
After breakfast, leave for next destination.

Day 1- Samarkand or Bukhara – Asraf village
Arrive in a tiny Nuratau Mountain village called Asraf.
Be welcomed by your host family and settle in one of local homestays. The homestays have a large gardens with many fruit trees where you can spend some time to relax on one of the tapchans (comfortable tea beds) or on a supa (traditional loom built tea bed). After having settled, your host will show you their facilities. Lunch. After lunch, walk around the village and get to know the daily livelihood activities of the people living in these remote valleys. In the afternoon, you have an opportunity to watch or help the family in the preparation of traditional dish Plov from homegrown vegetables and mountain spices. Dinner with your hosts.
Overnight stay in local homestay.
Day 2 - Asraf -Sentob
After Breakfast, prepare for the departure to the next Nuratau village.
9:00 Transfer by car to Sentob village, on the way visit lake Aydarkul. On the main Nurata-Jizzakh tar road branch off near Andigen village to the dirt road which takes you through vast Kyzyl-Kum steppes to the lake Aydar. Driving through Kyzyl-Kum you might spot steppe tortoises, hares and desert agamas. Arrive at the lake, depending on the time of the year you can have a swim, walk along the lakeshore or watch the rich aquatic birdlife (cranes, pelicans, many duck and goose species and numerous waders etc.). At the lake, you will meet many fishermen from villages nearby.
12:00 Leave for Sentob village. Arrive in a homestay in Sentob village.
Your host welcomes you and shows the homestay facilities. Almost all the houses in Sentob village have large gardens with the river passing through. Settle in a homestay. Lunch with the local family. After lunch, wander around the village to see the mosque, local school, village shop and a building style of the local houses. Sentob is one of the few villages where almost all the houses are built in traditional way using local rocks. Wandering through the village is a fantastic way to see villagers doing their daily activities. You will meet many friendly and curious villagers willing to talk to you.
In the afternoon, you have a free time to chat with your host family. You may also watch or participate in traditional cooking practices. Dinner with your the hosts family.
Overnight stay in a homestay in Sentob.
Day 3 - Sentob – Bukhara or Samarkand
Breakfast. Say good bye to your host and leave for the next destination.
